Over five years ago, after earning his Juris Doctorate from Indiana University-Bloomington, Michael S. Baker moved to Arizona to practice law and become involved in the community. Indeed, public service and community involvement correspond directly with the mission of The Baker Law Firm, LLC, to serve clients on an individual basis from the community. For example, Mr. Baker has been intimately involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters for over 15 years as a "little", "big", and fundraiser. Additional service includes the Boys & Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, and the Salvation Army.

First, upon arriving in Arizona, Mr. Baker had the opportunity to work for Honorable Thomas, W. O'Toole of the Maricopa County Superior Court. That one-year experience provided Mr. Baker with invaluable experience regarding how the judicial system works from a perspective few practicing lawyers will ever see. Next, Mr. Baker worked for the Maricopa County Public Defenders Office as a criminal defense attorney handling nearly 50 criminal felony cases at one time. That experience provided invaluable trial experience, courtroom experience, and criminal defense experience that is nearly impossible to gain in private practice.

Next, Mr. Baker worked for a civil law firm in Scottsdale, Arizona.  There, Mr. Baker gained experience in practicing civil law, from divorce and family law, to personal injury and small business litigation.  After practicing for the Scottsdale, Arizona firm, Mr. Baker opened The Baker Law Firm, LLC. with the intent of utilizing all of the experiences enumerated above, but practice law with the intention of serving clients first.  Mr. Baker believes that clients deserve the utmost respect with regard to their cases, as they are often facing one of the most tumultuous times in their lives.  Mr. Baker believes that attorneys have a duty to respect their clients and advise them legally and holistically.
