38 arrested, 12 still sought in alleged drug-related crime ring

Upon being arrested and charged with any type of crime, especially a felony crime, residents in Arizona may well feel scared and unsure of what to expect. While difficult, it is important to keep in mind that being arressted does not guarantee that a person will ultimately be convicted.

A recent case saw a total of 38 people arrested with 12 more sought in conjunction with a total of 127 different felony charges in Arizona. Together, this group has a total of 518 arrests on record. Of those arrests, only 156 of them resulted in actual convictions. The current 127 charges include those for wire fraud, racketeering, aggravated assault, burglary, weapons crimes and drug offenses.

Among the evidence collected in the case thus far are eight weapons, 90 grams of heroin and five pounds of methampetamine. Some of those arrested are accused of having involvement with a gang. The arrests came after multiple agencies worked together on an investigation spanning a year and a half. The majority of those arrested were in Flagstaff but some were throughout the state. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Flagstaff Metro Narcotics Taskforce were just two of the groups involved in the case.

People who are facing serious criminal charges may find it useful to talk with an attorney about how they may effectively be able to defend themselves against the accusations. With serious penalties on the line, this may well be worth the time and effort.
