Criminal activity covers a wide spectrum of things. Charges can be misdemeanors or felonies and penalties may include jail time, fines or more depending upon circumstances. For Phoenix residents who are charged with multiple crimes, the potential for serious penalties may increase, especially if at least one felony is involved. Drug crimes, weapons charges and even some vehicular crimes can fall into this category.

Unspecified felony charges have been levied against three separate adults in a case involving speeding, a single motor vehicle crash, illegal drugs and weapons. Minor children were also found at the time of the arrest and have been taken from the parents, both of whom have been arrested, and placed in the care of Child Protective Services. It is not known if any formal charges regarding the treatment of the children have been filed against one or more of the adults.

Reports indicate that the driver of a vehicle clocked going as fast as 100 miles per hour was believed to be the father of the two young children who were in the back of the vehicle at the time. He and another passenger were apprehended by authorities after they ran from the vehicle following a crash. Marijuana and a gun were found in the vehicle, along with the children and their mother.

Situations like the above can leave defendants looking for help in navigating the criminal defense process. Talking with a private defense lawyer is one way that people may get the help they need to avoid unnecessary penalties.
